We've Sold!!!

So things have been VERY crazy the last few months. To sum it up, after 19 house showings, we have finally sold our house! It came right down to the latest we could sell in order for it to all be finalized in time for us to get our mortgage  for the new house. All because of GOD and our amazing realtor! Our realtor is a friend, and his wife works with Shane, and he really worked hard to get our house sold. We definitely didn't sell it for what we (or he) originally thought it would sell for, but in the end it is exactly what we need to pay off the existing mortgage, a few debts and have our downpayment for the new house! Nothing to spare, but at least we can get into the new house!!! PRAISE GOD! The cool thing too is the buyers are from Slave Lake and had lost everything in the fires a few weeks ago. So we feel good about being able to let at least one of those many families get back into a house... not that we had anything to do with it, but they really needed a place to live, so God answered their prayer too!

There has been so much happening in our new house too! We have a possesion date of July 13th! so that is already less than a month away. YIKES! We are so excited... but now I have to pack. The wonderful thing is that we didn't sell too soon that we would have to find another place to live before the house was finished, and it also gives us almost 2 weeks after Shane is done working to have both of us packing and watching the boys. I don't have to do it all by myself! YAY! So it is very good timing, of course it was God's!

So here are some pictures of what the house looks like now:

It looks like the garage floor had just been poured

This is a few weeks old, so the siding is done now :-)

Randomness from my silly and sweet boys!

This is a song that Kaleb made up and Daddy and Kaleb sing it almost every supper.

Poor kid... Nana did this to him! Thanks for teaching him to put bags on his head!

Been A While

So it has been a long time since I have added anything to the blog. The house is coming along very quickly. There just hasn't been much to take pictures of. Shane and I have had a LOT of meetings to get everything chosen for cabinets, flooring, colours, tilework, etc... and we have had 2 electrical walk-throughs! These pictures are from April 17th when my parents got to see it for the first time, so they are already old! I forgot to take the camera out last time (grrr), but I will next time. The drywall is done (not mudding and taping... that should be happening right now), so now we really are able to get a feel of what each room will be like in size. The siding was half on when we were there on Saturday, so hopefully it is done now.

It Looks Like A House - Mar. 17/11

We were soooo excited to go out on Thursday and see that it actually looks like a house now. It was fun to walk through and be "in" our house rather than just trying to visualize how big the rooms are going to be and where everything is. We loved it!!!
Shane holding up the roof! He is standing between the dining room and living room.

Looking down on the main floor from the master bedroom door. The kitchen is to the right with the dining area close to the window. The left is a bathroom with the two bedrooms further to the left out of the picture. The living room is past the bathroom where you see green.
Garage and master bedroom. Notice the windows are already there waiting to be put in sometime late next week probably.

Back right with boys bedroom windows close together. The right window is the living room and the left window is the dining room with a door leading onto the deck.

Back left with cantelever for the kitchen.

My Cutie-Pies!

Kaleb has started an evening ritual of "Belly Time". As soon as supper is done they all three strip down to their diapers or underwear and run around like crazy. They especially loved having Baba here to play with and blow on their tummies!
Caius and Lucas love to play with each other... sometimes rather roughly, but I guess that is what boys do!

OUR NEW BLOG ADDRESS!

Hi All! You may have wondered why there have been no new posts on our family blog for several months. Well, I had started the blog using my old work email address, and they finally realized that I was no longer working for the district (I'm working for my kids), so they cancelled my email address without my knowledge. I cannot log on to the old site to make any changes. So I am now finally getting a new one started... this time using Shane's work email address. So let's hope he keeps his :-)

EXCITING NEWS!!! (Nope... not a fourth baby) Shane and I are building a bigger house. Even though we love our house, we seem to have outgrown it. In about 5 months we will be living in Blackfalds. It is a small, but growing town just 5 min north of Red Deer. It will actually be the same distance to work and church in the north end as it is from where we live on the south end of Red Deer. And it is cheaper to build out there. We are excited to raise our boys in a small town atmosphere, but be very close to Red Deer. I will post pictures of our house "in-progress" soon.
